I discovered the work of French photographer, JR in my 2nd year at university and its always stayed with me and reminds me never to underestimate the power of image. These images (Face2face) were taken of 8 Israelis and Palestinians and in 2007 pasted on the 'security wall' in the Gaza strip. At the time it was the largest illegal photo exhibition. 
These images were created in 2008 during a project to highlight the dignity of women around the world and in areas experiencing conflict, where women are so often the silent victims. This is image is from Kiberia, Nairobi, Kenya. The video below is a trailer of the film that documents this project, its beautiful but not for the faint hearted. See more here
